(See that snow? Where was it the day of the wedding?!)
The Kingsley House Bed and Breakfast Inn is located in Fennville, Michigan just minutes away from Saugatuck, Holland and South Haven. It is ranked one of the top 12 bed and breakfast inns worldwide. The home was built in 1886 by Harvey Kingsley who brought apples and peaches to the area. As such, each room in the Inn, eight in total, is named after a type of apple. We stayed in the Empire Elite Suite.
We had our own private entrance in the back of the home.
You bet I took advantage of relaxing in this!
We kept the fire place on the entire time.
We made sure to sign the room journal before we left.
Private deck area off of our room. Would be so nice to enjoy in warmer weather.
Our room was so spacious, warm and cozy. We brought along a few movies and DVD's (Season one of Big Bang Theory anyone?!) and the Inn provided free, wireless Internet to its guests.
On the second floor of the Inn, we could help ourselves to a sizable library of movies as well as a closet full of board games. The closet also provided any items you may have forgotten (i.e., toothbrush, etc.) along with a mini refrigerator of water and pop. There was also a hutch that housed wine and other drinking glasses should we need them. We felt so at home and were never in want of anything! Our room had its own mini fridge that was pre-stocked with pop and water and we brought along a few bottles of wine to enjoy as well.
Terry, one of the Innkeepers, was so kind and provided us with some unbelievable breakfasts! I completely forgot my camera the first morning, but I remembered the second. Mr. Ball Cap wasn't used to taking pictures of his food so he was a little taken back when I shouted that he couldn't start eating right away!
The first morning we had fresh yogurt with bananas and granola, a mini spicy tomato quiche type of dish and then a piping hot broccoli, ham, cheese and egg casserole. YUM! The second morning, Mr. BC and I were the only guests. We were served:
Fresh berry yogurt with granola and mini cinnamon nut muffins.
Mini pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs and toast.
It was seriously some of the best breakfast food we had ever eaten. The ingredients were fresh and high quality and everything was cooked perfectly!
For beverages, there was always hot coffee and cocoa available, any time of day, along with hot water for tea. At 4:00 pm, Terry would set out snacks of chocolate covered candies, candy coated trail mix, and other goodies.
I cannot recommend this B&B enough. We will definitely return sometime in the future. I really like that each room has its own private bath with five of the rooms having a jacuzzi tub. Your privacy is respected, yet if you need anything, the Innkeepers are always there to help.
