Made in the Shade: Reception Decor Details

Capturing the reception decor was definitely a priority on the photography list.  After months of hard work and DIY projects, I wanted to be able to look back and remember every, single, detail.

When our guests first entered our venue, they were greeted by a festive table (decorated by my venue coordinator!) that held our thumbprint guestbook.

This photo captures so many amazing things.  My Uncle/Godfather passed away the year before the wedding, so having my Aunt and cousin with us was so important.  My dad's side of the family is notorious for sticking out our tongues when concentrating, and my little cousin is no exception!  Our guests did an amazing job completing our guestbook and we have it proudly hung in our home.

Our escort table included photos of loved ones who are no longer with us.  We included signs indicating their relationship to Mr. Ball Cap and I.  It was a lovely reminder that they were with us in spirit on this special day.

We chose white linens with navy chair bows.  There were two differerent floral arrangements among the tables.  The tall, thin vases held balls of baby's breath and the base was lit with a blue LED light.

The shorter floral arrangements were also lit from the base.

The table number luminaries turned out beautifully and really added to the ambiance.

The head table's toasting flutes were garnished with fresh strawberries.  You can also see the blue uplighting in the background.  Once the lights went down after dinner, the room was washed in a blue light that gave the space a wintery feel.

Our venue added a vase to our head table to set my bouquet in.  The table also featured the sparkle letters I made the month before.

Our New Year's Eve table was a huge hit.  I picked up the mask at a trade show and wore it right before the midnight countdown.  We ended up not having quite enough hats, beads and blowers for everyone.  I didn't anticipate people taking so many props!

The personaized clock looked amazing and was a great reminder of how much time was left before midnight.

The one "oops" of the night was the stack of cards you see at the front of the table.  MOB printed the lyrics to Auld Lange Syne, but I completely forgot to tell our DJ to play it!  The party just continued after the countdown and we didn't realize the error until the next day.  We were lucky to only have some minor hiccups, most of which only I noticed!
